Q: What is Scrip?

A: It is an effective fundraiser for non-profit organizations, where each participating retailer offers a percentage of the purchase card to benefit the non-profit.

Example:

All retailers want YOUR business, so they pay an incentive of the purchase of a scrip card (a.k.a. gift/cash card) to Harbor Light Christian Center. Let’s say you need to purchase gas, so you buy a $100 cash card for Shell, Speedway or any other participating retailer.  You pay $100 for a Speedway card, you get $100 of Speedway gasoline.  Speedway then donates 4% ($4.00) to Harbor Light Christian Center for selling a Speedway cash or gift card.
